CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH, 10/11/2019 - The Cleveland Heights Architectural Board of Review (ABR) approved the final design drawings submitted by the project developer, Flaherty & Collins Properties, clearing the way for this catalytic development in Cleveland Heights referred to as Top of the Hill, with construction set to begin in early 2020. On Thursday, October 10, the City’s ABR took the final step to review design development drawings for this project located on Cedar Road and Euclid Heights Boulevard, just up the hill from University Circle. The approval was unanimous with a few building conditions outlined. This was the fourth ABR review of the project with the design and architectural details evolving over the last year in response to ABR and public comments. At the prominent gateway between the Heights and University Circle, the Top of the Hill’s development has been a long-time goal of the City. The estimated $84 million project is expected to include 275 market-rate luxury apartments, up to 15,000 square feet of first-floor commercial space, close to 25,000 square feet of green space, and a parking garage containing 550 spaces, as well as additional surface parking.
Flaherty & Collins’ Vice President of Design and Pre-construction, Brandon Bogan, said he is confident that the apartments will be successful because they would be offering luxury style living with unmatched amenities. The plans showed a first floor co-working space, pet spa, dog park, indoor bicycle parking with a bike wash station, fitness center, and a tenth floor pool, terrace and common space for socializing. "Cleveland Heights has welcomed many new businesses to our City over the past few years, and this important development will bring more businesses and new residents to our wonderful City," said Cleveland Heights City Manager Tanisha Briley. "As the gateway to our City, I am excited to break ground next year and have even more people experience all that Cleveland Heights has to offer."
"We are certainly excited to work with the Flaherty & Collins team on this important project. They have been an outstanding partner and bring years of experience and many successes in other communities from across the country," Briley said.
Top of the Hill is in the popular Cedar Fairmount commercial district minutes from University Circle and major educational institutions and premier medical facilities. Construction is slated to commence during the 1st Quarter of 2020, with a planned 2021 completion. For more information please visit www.clevelandheights.com/toh.
